Etiology & Risk Factors
- Post-viral infection.
Clinical Symptoms
- Exquisitely tender thyroid
- fever
- transient hyperthyroidism followed by hypothyroidism.
Clinical Approach
Diagnosis
- Elevated ESR/CRP
- low radioiodine uptake.
Management
- NSAIDs
- Aspirin
- Beta-blockers.
Complications
- Permanent hypothyroidism (rare).
