Epidemiology

Varies globally depending on genetics, environment, or exposure.

Etiology & Risk Factors

  • Mostly benign, sporadic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor.

Clinical Symptoms

  • Whipple's triad: Fasting hypoglycemia
  • Symptoms of hypoglycemia
  • Relief with glucose.

Clinical Approach

Diagnosis

  • Fasting hypoglycemia with inappropriately high insulin and high C-peptide.

Management

  • Surgical enucleation/resection.

Complications

  • Severe hypoglycemia
  • coma.
