Epidemiology

Varies globally. Often age and lifestyle dependent.

Etiology & Risk Factors

  • Tobacco smoking, heavy alcohol use, HPV.

Clinical Symptoms

  • Persistent hoarseness
  • dysphagia
  • hemoptysis
  • neck mass.

Clinical Approach

Diagnosis

  • Laryngoscopy with biopsy
  • CT neck.

Management

  • Radiation
  • partial or total laryngectomy
  • Chemotherapy.

Complications

  • Metastasis
  • loss of voice.
