Etiology & Risk Factors

  • Myopia, trauma, posterior vitreous detachment.

Clinical Symptoms

  • Flashes of light
  • new floaters
  • curtain coming down over vision.

Clinical Approach

Diagnosis

  • Dilated fundus exam.

Management

  • Urgent surgical repair (Vitrectomy
  • Scleral buckle).

Complications

  • Permanent vision loss.
