Etiology & Risk Factors
- Viral, Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A Strep).
Clinical Symptoms
- Sore throat
- fever
- odynophagia
- tonsillar exudates.
Clinical Approach
Diagnosis
- Rapid strep test
- Throat culture.
Management
- Penicillin/Amoxicillin (if Strep positive).
Complications
- Peritonsillar abscess
- Rheumatic fever.
