Dosing & Administration
Adult Dose
Type 1: 1/3 to 1/2 of total daily insulin dose SQ once daily. Type 2: Start 10 units SQ daily.
Pediatric Dose
Type 1: Similar to adult proportion.
Renal Adjustment
Dose reduction may be required due to decreased insulin clearance.
Hepatic Adjustment
Dose reduction may be required.

Pregnancy Category
C - Generally considered safe and necessary.
Lactation Safety

Contraindications
- During episodes of hypoglycemia
