Dosing & Administration
Adult Dose
Induction: 1.5-2.5 mg/kg IV. ICU Sedation: 5-50 mcg/kg/min IV infusion.
Pediatric Dose
Induction: 2.5-3.5 mg/kg IV.
Renal Adjustment
No adjustment necessary.
Hepatic Adjustment
No adjustment necessary.
Safety & Special Populations
Pregnancy Category
B - Generally considered safe for rapid sequence intubation.
Lactation Safety
Compatible (discard milk for 24h optionally).

Contraindications
- Allergy to eggs, egg products, soybeans, or soy products
Common Adverse Effects
- Hypotension
- Apnea / Respiratory depression
- Propofol infusion syndrome (PRIS)
