Clinical Significance
Least common granulocyte. Release histamine and heparin. Significant basophilia is highly suspicious for a myeloproliferative disorder like CML.

- Allergic responses
- Polycythemia vera

- Acute stress
- Hyperthyroidism
- Pregnancy
