0 - 3 (or < 5% of total CK) ng/mL

Pediatric

0 - 3 ng/mL

Clinical Significance

Isoenzyme of CK more specific to cardiac muscle. Peaks in 24 hrs and normalizes in 48-72 hrs, useful for detecting re-infarction (unlike troponin).

Causes of High

  • Acute Myocardial Infarction
  • Myocarditis
  • Cardiac contusion/surgery

Causes of Low

  • Normal finding
