< 500 ng/mL (FEU)

Clinical Significance

Fibrin degradation product. Highly sensitive but poorly specific. Excellent for ruling out PE/DVT in low-probability patients.

Causes of High

  • Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
  • DIC
  • Pregnancy
  • Surgery/Trauma
  • Malignancy
