Clinical Significance
Intracellular enzyme found in almost all tissues. Highly sensitive but completely non-specific marker for tissue damage or high cell turnover.

- Cellular death/necrosis
- Hemolysis
- Myocardial infarction
- Malignancy (Lymphoma)
- Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PCP)
