Non-treponemal screening test for Syphilis. Also used to track the efficacy of treatment (titers should decrease by 4-fold).
Causes of High
- Active Syphilis (Treponema pallidum)
- False positive (Lupus, Pregnancy, acute viral illness)
Causes of Low
- Normal finding
- Successfully treated Syphilis (titer drops)
