Contraindications & Precautions

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy
  • Severe immunodeficiency
  • Anaphylaxis to neomycin/gelatin

Precautions

  • Recent administration of antibody-containing blood products
  • History of thrombocytopenia

Clinical Information

Effectiveness

97% effective against measles after 2 doses.

Patient Counseling

  • A mild rash or fever may appear 7-12 days after vaccination.
  • Females should avoid getting pregnant for 1 month after vaccination.
