Indications
- Prevention of yellow fever in travelers to endemic zones in Africa/South America.
- Required for entry into certain countries (ICVP).
Target Ages:
Travelers to endemic areas (9 months to 59 years)
Contraindications & Precautions
Contraindications
- Severe allergy to eggs or gelatin
- Immunodeficiency
- Age < 6 months
- Thymus disorder
Precautions
- Adults >= 60 years due to increased risk of severe adverse events.
- Pregnancy (unless travel is unavoidable).

Rare Adverse Events
- Yellow fever vaccine-associated neurotropic disease (YEL-AND)
- Yellow fever vaccine-associated viscerotropic disease (YEL-AVD) - can be fatal.
Clinical Information
Effectiveness
Provides almost 100% protection, usually considered lifelong after a single dose.
Patient Counseling
- You must receive an official Yellow Fever certificate (Yellow Card) valid 10 days after vaccination.
- Avoid mosquito bites even after vaccination.
